Now that Summer has officially finished and we’re well into Autumn thousands of people are beginning to wonder the top spots to see Autumn leaves in Melbourne. We’ve decided to dedicate this entire blog in suggesting places close-by to Melbourne which offer a spectacular Autumn foliage.

So here it is, our top spots to see Autumn Leave in Melbourne

Tieve Tara – Mount Macedon

Tieve Tara is a gorgeous garden located in Mount Macedon. It’s on the most famous gardens in the area and there’s a reason why. The amber leaves of the pin oaks, aspens and Japanese maples is nothing short of perfection. The gardens are located only an hour out of Melbourne CBD and the drive is amazing. As soon as you reach Mount Macedon you will be greeted with a sea of red and orange leaves.

Entry is $10 per person and children under 12 go in free. Gardens are open every day in Autumn. 

Cloudhill – The Dandenongs

Hence the name, Cloudhill is perfectly situated within the clouds at an altitude of 580 meters above sea level. This magical gardens boast of having spectacular scenery all year round. And it definitely lives up to this. Besides being incredibly rich in Autumn foliage the gardens also host an amazing view of the Dandenong Ranges. If you do go there and you feel a little hungry be sure to stop in at their restaurant. The food is absolutely amazing.

Entry is $10 per person and children enter free. Gardens are open 7 days.

Maroondah Reservoir Park

Although Maroondah Reservoir Park doesn’t appear in too many list of Top Spots to see Autumn Leaves in Melbourne, we believed that it deserved to be mentioned. Maroondah Reservoir Park is located in Healesville. The park is perfect for setting up an awesome picnic and there are also various scenic walks you can do. Maroondah Reservoir Park sits just at the side of a large dam, which hosts spectacular reflections of the amber foliage that surrounds it. Be sure to take a trip to the Rose Stairway and be prepared to see some spectacular sights!

Forest Glade Gardens

This one is our personal favourite.  If you’re wanting to see a sea of autumn foliage that is home to some of the most beautiful Japanese gardens we’ve seen in Melbourne, then a visit to Forest Glade Gardens in Mount Macedon won’t disappoint.

Entry is $10 per person and children under 16 enter free. Gardens are open 7 days.
